La Musicienne Oil on Canvas This famous Lempicka painting was the first painting to sell for over 2 million dollars, selling for $2.5 million at Sotheby's in May of 2002. Several other paintings have since also selling for over 1 million dollars, including the record sale of the portrait of Mrs. Bush, which sold for $4.6 million in 2004.
