The goal of our studios is to provide personalized musical education for students of all ages and musical skill levels. We hope to help further their knowledge, understanding and musical abilities in the particular direction which will be best suited to their needs and interests and desires.

We offer a year-round ongoing program of private enrollment with some of this area's most talented and popular music instructors.

PIANO AND KEYBOARD INSTRUCTORS

 
bulletMARTHA BIRCH - A full-time professional musician with a Bachelor's degree in keyboards, composition and music theory. Martha has over 35 years experience in teaching beginning and advanced students.
bulletGENNA COWSERT - Classical and popular piano and keyboard instruction for students of all ages and levels.
bulletCHRISTINA GUERNE - Beginning piano for students of all ages.  Christina is a graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor's degree in music.  She is currently studying at the University of Michigan seeking her music education certification. 
bulletCHRIS HOLT - Classical and popular styles for students of all ages. Chris holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in Music Composition
bulletTONY KARAM - Popular, Classical, Jazz and Blues Piano and Keyboard including improvisation. He plays with many different bands and has opened for several national touring groups.
bulletALAN LOLLAR - Classical, and popular piano and keyboard for students of all levels and ages.  Alan has a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Performance from EMU and is the Music Director for the First Congregational Church in Rochester.
bulletDOUG MEDONIS - Classical, popular and ragtime instruction including advanced piano technic for students of all levels and ages. Doug has studied piano at Oakland University and performs in musical ensemble groups.
bulletELIZABETH NOWICKI - Popular or Classical instruction for students of all ages and levels on piano or keyboard.
bulletSANDY SULLIVAN - Popular and Classical Piano and Keyboard instruction for acoustic and digital piano for students of all ages and levels.  Sandy is also our resident Studio Director.
bulletJULIE SZELIGA - Classical and Popular piano and keyboard instruction for students of all ages and levels.  Julie performs

 

GUITAR AND BASS GUITAR INSTRUCTORS

bulletMICHAEL CARPENTER - A professional guitarist of all styles including Rock, Jazz and Flamenco, Michael has degrees in history and music from Wayne State University and performs with the Payo Gypsy Jazz Band.
bulletNANCY DEMATES - A player of all styles, who teaches students of all ages and abilities.
bulletTONY KARAM - A professional guitar player of all styles, specializing in blues and improvisation as well as teaching Rock, Popular, chords and tablature.  He plays with many different bands and has opened for several national touring groups.
bulletKEITH MALINKOWSKI - A Bass Guitar specialist, as well as guitar, teaching Rock, Improvisation, chords and tablature.  He also plays stand up acoustic bass and plays with many different bands in the Detroit area.

 

BRASS AND WOODWIND INSTRUCTORS

bulletDAN BIRCH - A full-time professional musician who is a woodwind and brasswind specialist, with a Bachelor's and Masters degree in music education.  Dan has over 35 years experience in teaching beginner and advanced students, and is also a qualified instrument repairman.

MARGE PERUZZI - A professional musician and teacher in the Brandon School District who is a woodwind specialist.  Marge has a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and over 20 years experience in teaching beginning and advanced students.

 

VOCAL INSTRUCTORS

bulletCHRISTINA GUERNE - Beginning piano for students of all ages.  Christina is a graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor's degree in vocal performance.  She is currently studying at the University of Michigan seeking her music education certification.

STUDIO POLICIES

"Our instructors are committed to providing the highest quality of personalized music education possible, and we require that our students and their families are committed to supporting our efforts to further each student's progress."

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Students must fill out a studio registration form

• Students must have an instrument to practice with

• Daily practice is necessary as recommended by the instructor

• Regular weekly attendance is necessary for maximum advancement &  success

• All tuition must be paid monthly in advance

• All materials must be paid for when given and assigned by the teacher

 

PAYMENT

Lesson tuition is $20.00 per private 1/2 hour.  TUITION FOR the entire month or the remainder of the first month is due at the time of, or prior to the first lesson.  if you notify us at that time that the student will not be present on a particular day, a make up time can be scheduled or the tuition will be reduced by the number of days absent.  BOOKS AND MATERIALS MUST BE PAID FOR AT THE TIME THEY ARE GIVEN TO THE STUDENT.  TUITION ACCOUNT STATEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.  INQUIRIES CONCERNING TUITION ACCOUNTS MUST BE MADE MONDAY - FRIDAY BETWEEN 10 A.M. AND 3 P.M

 

CANCELLATION AND MAKEUPS

WE REQUIRE ADVANCE NOTICE TO CANCEL A LESSON WITHOUT CHARGE.  IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND A LESSON (FOR WHATEVER REASON) AND DO NOT NOTIFY US PRIOR TO 10:00 A.M. THE DAY OF THE LESSON, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THE LESSON.  MAKEUP LESSONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR UP TO (4) WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF THE MISSED LESSON, AT THE AVAILABILITY OF THE TEACHER’S SCHEDULE.  IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO SCHEDULE THESE MAKUPS.  CREDIT FOR LESSONS CANCELLED WITHIN OUR GUIDELINES WILL BE CREDITED TO THE NEXT MONTH’S TUITION.  MAKEUP LESSONS THAT ARE CANCELLED OR UNATTENDED WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED.

 

THIS CONTRACT IS RENEWABLE UPON PAYMENT OF THE NEXT MONTH’S TUITION UNTIL LESSONS ARE DISCONTINUED.  REFUNDS OF PRE-PAID TUITION ARE SUBJECT TO ACCEPTED CANCELLATION GUILDELINES.
