“Art Deco” by Alaistair Duncan quotes: “To most devotees, the pinnacle of the Art Deco style is represented by Tamara de Lempicka......”. “Art Deco Painting”by Edward Lucie-Smith quotes: “Indeed, since the rediscovery of her work in the early 1970’s, Lempicka, even more than either Depas or Delorme, has come to be thought of as “the” Art Deco painter, almost to the exclusion of all rivals”.

Tamara de Lempicka (1898-1980) was Polish born, painted in France during and after the 1920’s.  She studied with Cezanne disciple, Maurice Denis and Andre L’Hote, theoritician of Cubism.

Portrait of Baroness Kizette, is a rare portrait of her daughter, done in approximately 1954/1955.  There were 10 images of Kizette, one of her favorite subjects, done during her painting career.  This painting, contained in the Catalogue Raisonne, which was just published by Alain Blondel, the last exhibitor of her works while she was alive, is one of only two of Kizette as an adult.

Later research of another newly published critical biography on Tamara's life,  would find this photo, a rare one of Kizette at Christmas in 1954, where it appears that she is posing for the portrait.  What do you think?
