TAMARA de LEMPICKA

Our tribute to an Inimitable Artistic Talent and Lifestyle.

I first "met" Tamara de Lempicka and her work when we bid on some of the pieces from the Barbra Streisand auction of her Art Nouveau and Art Deco collection at Christie's in 1994.  Although not interested in the painting that went for $1.9 million dollars, (yeah, Right!), we were introduced to her importance and talent in the Art Deco world.  Most of her works are in museums all over the world or in extensive private collections.  Trying to buy books about her, research her art ,and personal life has become one of our personal quests.

We have been in contact with many people who knew her, others who know and have collected and sold her works, others who have written about her, and finally, through wonder connections, special consideration, and sheer luck, we have been able to  purchase several of her works.  They give a most comprehensive retrospective of her life and works and a marvelous piece of insight into one of the most influential Art Deco painters in history.
